Highest rate switches from young men (blue), suggests cohort effect - risk carried into later life. Their risk followed 90s recession.

Why do people of mixed race have high suicide rates? Unlikely to be single factor but may be
-greater alienation
-more socio-economic adversity
-lack of protective factors found in some ethnic groups eg family support, community cohesion, no alcohol, religion.
