Zebras are smaller than modern horses too, but the armour obscures if Lysander is riding a true zebra, a zorse/zebroid, or a painted horse.

I like this! It's subtle worldbuilding and is another point for prequel believers.
War destriers didn't exist in the classical era that Fourtune's Weave is taking inspiration from. That was a medieval breed of warhorse, ancient Roman cavalry rode smaller horses.

@Scarecrohh ‘nee-shuh’ is how the name is pronounced though. like it's a real Irish name and it is pronounced how it is in Heroes.
The ‘weirdness’ is just a symptom of how Celtic languages are rendered in the Latin alphabet.

@Leelee2732 It's a lot of FE characters but the first that springs to mind is Eirika. She's not “dumb” to hand over the stone to Lyon! She has imperfect information, a belief in the inherent goodness of people, and love for her friend who she doesn't yet know can't be saved.
