Anyone complaining about Rails req/vCPU hasn't seen my single-threaded Node.js app eat dogshit after I accidentally made it send +100k queries to the database.
Nobody cares. It all sucks and so do we. Until we don't.
@grmpyprogrammer Really fits the IndieWeb mold very well. Perhaps we should never have had all our eggs in one basket. I'm enjoying the rebuild process on Mastodon and the community over there seem so different in temperament. Perhaps it is these extreme reaches that have made us less human.
@calebrw @grmpyprogrammer I heard birds aren't real either. If I don't see you guys tomorrow after my "clot shot" activates, it's been nice. Guess I'll be all clotted up or something.
@adamwathan@DanCanCode We were JUST talking about your team's intuition of your market. It's been our experience that as soon as we get into or are finishing up a project, you're building something that would have made it easier. So much so that we've all joked, "let's just wait for Tailwind labs"
@CalEvans "Are my developers doing what makes them happy and leaves them fulfilled?"
If so, it seems like (in my experience) all other concerns around "productivity" becomes diminished as the team of happy, motivated, and inspired developers deliver outcome consistently and regularly.
I feel like the neatest thing here is that we expose a simple interpreter that can filter data given to it, but we also provide an interface for grabbing the AST for a particular query.
In this way, you can write your own interpreter that filters the data however you see fit!
Still in "toy" status right now, but I created a package for parsing a custom query language that can be used to filter data in front-end and back-end applications.

@thewebvy "An insatiable appetite for learning new technologies and overcoming technical challenges" as a "preferred qualification"...
In other words, "must be able to train yourself endlessly and not burn out because we're sure as hell going to get more out of you than you get from us".
@thewebvy I can't wait for NC teachers to realize they're one code bootcamp and some grit away from earning 2-3x on their current salary while also successfully transferring a skill set in education to mentorship and technical leadership.
