Congratulations to Professor Muhammad Yunus and his fellow advisers on forming the interim government of Bangladesh.

Looking back, this moment arises from the widespread injustices and violations Bangladeshis faced under Sheikh Hasina’s authoritarian regime for 16 grueling years.

The quota movement sparked participation from all democracy-loving people beyond our brave students — from teachers, workers, and rickshaw-pullers to housewives, ordinary citizens, and political activists.

The protests were not just about quota reform, but a united stand against unprecedented levels of corruption, inflation, unemployment, suppression of freedom of expression and human rights violations. The list of wrongdoings by her regime had grown to monstrous heights over Awami League’s rule.

With the fall of the regime, the people of Bangladesh now expect the interim government to create an environment where they can vote freely to reflect their democratic aspirations and enable fair and credible national elections to take place.

@bdbnp78 supports the formation of an elected government with a public mandate, and an accountable parliament serving the people, restoring the people’s rights and freedoms, thereby establishing the rule of law and good governance.

ঢাকার তেজগাঁও স্টেশনে ট্রেইনে আগুন দেওয়ার আগের দিন পুলিশের যুগ্ম কমিশনার বিপ্লব কুমারের স্বাক্ষরে স্বাস্হ্য অধিদফতরে চিঠি দিয়ে জানানো হয়েছিল ঢাকার সব হাসপাতালকে সর্বোচ্চ সতর্কতায় প্রস্তুত থাকতে। তাহলে ওনি কি জানতেন একটা বড় ধরনের ঘটনা ঘটবে। হাসপাতাল, অ্যাম্বুলেন্স, নার্স, ডাক্তারের প্রস্তুত থাকতে হবে!!!

A BNP leader named Amin Uddin Molla was declared dead and buried 3 years ago.
A Gazipur police officer clearly saw him fleeing by throwing bombs at the police at 28 oct night. At least,police case says that.

In the aftermath of recent fabricated accusations targeting deceased BNP leaders Sanaullah Miah and Nasir Rahman in Dhaka, and Lokman Hossain in Moulvibazar, among others, the fascist regime has now declared another late BNP leader guilty. Abu Taher Daiya from New Market Thana BNP in Dhaka, who passed away four years ago, has been sentenced today to an 18-month imprisonment. Shajedul Islam Sumon, a BNP leader from Dhaka, who was a victim of enforced disappearance on December 4, 2013 and remains missing for a decade, has been jailed for two years and a half.

These farcical trials illustrate the deplorable state of law and order in Bangladesh under Sheikh Hasina. Law enforcement agencies and the judiciary collaborate with ruling AL to indiscriminately oppress BNP leaders and activists, recklessly following the names listed in various BNP committees. The politically motivated cases against 5 million BNP members, founded on fictitious and groundless charges, underscore the gravity of this situation. The passion for democracy is clouded by a troubling absence of justice, but BNP ensures, truth will triumph in Bangladesh.
