@DomMgy1 @mrdanwalker Wrong. Offside is about advantage. What advantage does that give the attacker? If you want a defined measurement. One step ahead. Then the attacker has a shorter run.

@mrdanwalker Agreed. The intention of the offside was was to prevent attacks having "clear space" ahead of the defenders. Not 1" of a boot, both players there gave equal chance to the ball and thus no offside. They have forgotten the intent.
