Schools banned peanut butter in an attempt to protect children allergic to peanuts. So, why is it so difficult for children to mask in school to protect other children who can't be vaccinated or are too young to be vaccinated?
Who’s begging for everyone to get vaccinated? Physicians
Who’s sowing doubt about vaccines? Politicians
Which of these groups do you trust more with your health?
PLEASE get vaccinated.
"Governor Reeves has no intention of requiring students and staff to wear masks when they’re in school this fall.”
Make no mistake: Gov. @TateReeves' decision not to require masks in schools with Delta surging WILL result in deaths that wouldn't have happened otherwise.
Pediatricians welcome @CDCgov's updated mask guidance for schools. We want our kids back to school in-person and universal masking is best for school this fall to keep everyone safe.
On top of his game! Dr. Zeb Henson was awarded the top awards from both the School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine this year https://t.co/aMXnH3b6ww @UMMCMedRes@UMMC_MedPeds
My prescription for the Evangelical movement - turn away from divisive politics and focus on the mission given to us by Christ: Feed the hungry, love our neighbors, serve the poor, preach the good news and disciple the next generation. Not complicated.
Things you don’t think about in #winterweek — people making it to dialysis safely 😳 s/o to @UMMCneph for working tirelessly this week to keep as many patients as healthy as possible. I get to work with some wonderful people
I want to thank our dialysis operation staff, who today, during this weather and with a water outage, worked extremely hard to ensure water supply and provide dialysis to every patient that could make it to JMM. Even if that meant sleeping over at the Unit. @UMMCneph@UMMCnews
He helped me as a scared little intern give my very first goals of care talk by myself to a family in the Micu. Like literally best of the best all the time. https://t.co/qmPU5zZouK
Will & Meagan: Ice Storm Chronicles
Me: hey, how’s this look?
*showing him text on my phone*
Will: I’m literally driving in the middle of an ice storm
Will driving me to work in the ice storm:
*we start sliding with the first turn onto the main road*
Me: oh no! Oh my gosh, Will!! Is it that—
Him: I did it on purpose
AND PROCEEDS TO LAUGH
Ending state-wide mask mandates and other public health measures because case counts are decreasing is like stopping your blood pressure medication because your numbers have improved. In both situations, the numbers will likely go right back up.
