@xonphused i e., Eve was tempted with the idea she could "be as gods." Many cultures worship the same gods just under different names. So, although you are correct that some gods are made up, that doesn't mean the true God is. He is the only one worshipped in spirit and truth.

@xonphused Good question. God's nature goes against our fleshly desires so we know its not of man's imagination. The Bible explains that although they know of God (many cultures have belief in God the Spirit), people are drawn away by their own lusts and construct idols accordingly.

@xonphused To live means free from sickness, discouragement, faintness, and death. The worship of God is the worship of the Spirit of life and those things like holiness that allow life to continue. If you act apart from that it brings death and you can't be in eternity either way.

@xonphused Reading comprehension must be off, besides the claim is not that it wasn't written by men, as scripture states (if you actually read it), they wrote as they were inspired by the Holy Ghost. There are literal passages where the men express being told to write in a book.
