@secretsofine or OP. I just think we can do better for each other, like not get along better on twitter but actually defend each other's lives and happiness better, if we talk through language and meaning and agree on ways forward. this is clearly just not the place for that.
@secretsofine it's not, it's an observation about how conversations function here, and how different they are from the ones I have in real life. it's just not helpful to either of us. I don't feel victimhood, punishment, silencing, etc about any tweets. and I don't have any hostility for you
truly believe this place is a net evil and getting worse. there are many of you I adore and I hope you find me somewhere else. I will be putting my time elsewhere because even really well meaning people on here are succumbing to the rot of equating this place with reality
@secretsofine@OgLakyn@umberghauri access to unsustainable fuels and products of exploitative labor are privileges. they also shouldn't exist. these words are not synonymous. inaccessibility of fundamental rights are their own class of thing! privilege is a larger category describing a different experience
@Vaishnavii_N@BelovedBaje that's not what a privilege is. many people can't afford food or housing. they still deserve it. inaccessibility does not denote privilege. how can anyone miss the endpoint of conflating these two things? demand better.
Reading is a necessity. And just because some people cannot do or access a necessity, does not make it less of a necessity. However, treating it as privilege makes even those who can do it deprioritize it. And we just canโt do that right now.
