Death Stranding is a videogame about a cataclysmic event that breaks the barrier between earth and the ocean of the afterlife, opening a portal into a liminal realm called The Beach. Then, deceased souls start getting stuck in this limbo and transforming into invisible monsters.

Their purgatorial prison makes them desperate for connection. So, they begin reaching out to the living. However, when an undead being and a living being make contact, a massive antimatter explosion called a voidout results, creating craters all over a desolate America.

Because of the cataclysmic Death Stranding event, a phenomenon called timefalls start happening too. This is when otherworldly rain rapidly accelerates the aging of anything it touches. So, the protagonist must avoid invisible monsters and paranormal precipitation.

He does this as he journeys along The Beach, which he uses to create a new quantum internet and reconnect all the isolated survivors. Nevertheless, he eventually finds out what caused the Death Stranding to begin with.

It happened after a woman named Amelie brought a dead baby back to life, upsetting the balance of the cosmos. Amelie had this ability because she was actually the manifestation of a godlike being called an Extinction Entity.

In short, the universe designed her to trigger the end of humanity and finally end all the world’s suffering. People who agree with Amelie’s cause, like a man named Higgs, lead terrorist organizations to accelerate the apocalypse on her behalf. But Amelie is only a spirit.

Her body actually belongs to a woman named Bridget, who is the first female president of the United States. So, the videogame has a really complex and crazy plot. But it actually seems super symbolic in light of recent world events. In fact, fans called it prophetic.

Not only was the game released right before the isolating Covid-19 lockdowns and the advent of the purgatorial world of the metaverse, it also predicted the rise of the accelerationists, who aim to speed up the end of the world and eliminate our supposedly parasitic species.

Even the “bridge babies” that are used to sense out the invisible monsters are reminiscent of those psychic mind control victims who are forced to have near-death-experiences. Like the “bridge babies” they live between life and death.

It’s also interesting to note that Higgs shares names with the Higgs Boson, the otherworldly particle discovered by the antimatter collider at CERN. People think CERN could accidentally end the world. And there’s even a statue of a godlike Extinction Entity named Shiva outside its lab!

So, maybe CERN will open a portal into limbo. Or maybe it already has. After all, the metaverse would not exist without CERN, which created the liminal realm we call the World Wide Web. But who is the real-world version of Amelia? Who is seducing scientists and terrorists into believing humanity needs erased for the greater good?

History absolutely agrees with me. Show me a single revolution, revolt, or riot that has ever succeeded without elite backing.

If your political strategy is to wait for "the people" to "wake up", take power, and overthrow the current regime, you are wasting your time. Waiting for the people to overthrow a regime on their own is like waiting for Godot.

Political change does not come from waking people up, which is why accelerationists find themselves always accelerating without ever reaching their stated destination.

Here's how things actually work.

Elites rule a society and construct social, legal, and moral systems to cement their rule. Counter-elites emerge in opposition to the ruling class for a variety of factors (elite overproduction, theological disagreements, elite mismanagement or incompetency, sheer will to power, etc).

They either get co-opted by the existing order and incorporated into it, try to infiltrate the regime and change it into something else after hijacking its institutions, or instigate and coordinate a revolution to topple it.

But regardless of the method through which a counter-elite attempts to displace an existing one, there has only been one political order to ever exist, and that is oligarchy. The question is never whether elites will be in charge at the end of the day, it's who makes up the ruling class, and to what ends do they rule?

Any political movement that does not understand this iron law and act accordingly is doomed to failure.

Which is why every single populist protest against the existing Progressive regime has either been systematically destroyed or has ended up becoming a fail-safe valve to blow off steam that would otherwise be used to churn the turbine of elite circulation, which is the thing that Progressives truly fear more than anything else.

These people do not fear riots in the streets. Those riots are either organized by themselves to justify taking further action to morally justify their rule, or they're disorganized rabble who can be easily crushed with an iron fist.

What they fear is a counter-elite emerging who might USE public resentment against Progressives to overthrow Progressivism itself.

You see whining about "clunky" old games because old games lack the player assists found in newgen games, which are literally designed for actual idiots on the assumption that the average player won't be able to learn how the game works for themselves.

Almost every action game now has:
>strong autotracking on attacks
>tons of i-frames
>no "checkmate" situations that are unrecoverable; endless mulligans so the player sees "you died/game over" as little as possible
>no lives, timers, scoring, or any other hard constraints on the player; failure doesn't cost anything
>multi-step actions triggered by single button presses like sliding/dashing to go faster, instant takedowns, etc; no need to combine multiple actions or learn any techniques like crouchjumping, bhopping, rocket/grenade jumping
>"cinematic" boss fights where the core gameplay may be totally absent and the "fight" is relegated to QTEs
>strong enemy leashing that keeps enemies in tiny areas, allowing you to whittle them down with no risk

They are deliberately designing games to place as few expectations on the player as possible and when someone who has only experienced these new games is shown an old game without these "quality of life" features, they call it "clunky" because the game is designed to actually be played by the player.
