Having lived in Bengaluru for many years as a non-Kannadiga, when I remember the city, I don't think of its pubs or swanky offices. My thoughts go directly to the Kannada flag, Kannada language, and its cinema and music. Kannada is the soul of the city. The very idea of removing its linguistic identity and seeing it merely as an international/Indian city of pubs and tech is, in my opinion, equivalent to desecration of its identity and soul.
Yes, it is the city that gave life and careers to millions, including non-Kannadigas. This fact doesn't strip away the reality that it is Karnataka's city.
This applies to Chennai, Mumbai as well. Whatever the TN BJP leader said might have been a non-issue in Delhi but not in Chennai or Bengaluru. And I can relate with Marathis on this.

Watched Anurag Kashyap’s Kennedy & was blown away! The haunting hallucinations of guilt, Rahul’s stellar acting, Kashyap’s masterful storytelling, frame capture & that BGM 🔥 The fusion of poem & rap was surreal. Hats off to my fav director @anuragkashyap72 👏 #Kennedy
@Preetha_K1 If not personal bounderies, he’ll definitely say: ‘You punished him, but then you washed his clothes. How is that a punishment for him? It’s actually a punishment for you! That makes you unfit to be captain.’ #BBK12
