Dr. Korir Sing’Oei, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs has met with the Organizing Committee preparing for the Africa–Forward Summit, scheduled for 11–12 May 2026 in Kenya.

Led by Ambassador Ogutu, the Committee briefed him on progress made and outlined areas requiring closer coordination ahead of the inaugural event.

PS Sing’Oei stressed the need for strong inter-agency collaboration, clear communication, and timely execution to ensure seamless delivery.

The Summit is expected to convene over 2,000 delegates, including Heads of State and Government, alongside leaders from the private sector, civil society, NGOs, and youth.

It will feature a Business Forum to advance trade, investment, and innovation partnerships between Africa and France, as well as platforms for inclusive civil society engagement.

The PS underscored that preparations must reflect Kenya’s ability to deliver a world-class event with precision, efficiency, and excellence.

After the great fire of London which consumed 80% of the city, measures were put in place to ensure that it would never happen again. That included switching to use of brick instead of timber to build. This was back in the year 1666

In 2011, Tsunami hit Japan. Thereafter they put a 395km long coastal protection featuring a 15m high concrete wall.

In 2016, Nairobi experienced ravaging floods that led to loss of lives. The governor said sorry and life went on. This week, floods happened again and the government didn’t hesitate to say sorry. We blamed the heavy rains. We are moving on.
