@fintechbrian@MikeNoelck@incarceratedbob Quicker bat speed gives you a fraction of a second longer reaction time. So it does improve contact when you have more time to react to the pitch.
@JudgesMVP@MLB@Dodgers This is exactly what it said on Google when i asked it “which is more taxing catcher or starting pitcher”. Starting pitching is way more taxing than PCA’s position for sure. PCA isn’t throwing 90+ pitches repeatedly a game wearing out his arm & shoulder
@JudgesMVP@MLB@Dodgers baseball generally rank Pitcher right alongside or just behind catcher as the most taxing position. While a catcher undergoes relentless full-body wear and tear, pitching places extreme, specialized acute stress on the arm and kinetic chain
@JudgesMVP@MLB@Dodgers Pitching is the most taxing position in baseball and the most important position in the game. Ohtani has to sacrifice his offensive stats this year to pitch. That’s why he isn’t hitting 55 home runs this year. His risk of injury is much higher than PCA’s.
@JudgesMVP@MLB@Dodgers PCA only has higher WAR because he’s had 30 more plate appearances. Ohtani has been playing injured for about 2 months and he still has a higher Batting Avg, , OPS and OPS+ than PCA. Plus he has a 1.79 ERA.
@snarlie2313@piiketyson@MLB@Dodgers Diving plays are not high percentage outs. You don’t understand baseball. Those are 100% base hits when not converted because the fielder has difficulty making the play.
@piiketyson@MLB@Dodgers You don’t understand baseball. That’s 100% a hit because of Ohtani’s speed. He would have beaten the pitcher to 1st base. Other players may have gotten out because they don’t have the speed to leg out an infield hit.
@MarkovWalker@DSimpson88 “ his offensive numbers are WAY more impressive. ” If they played the same amount of games, PCA would be trailing in every single stat. Ohtani had to sacrifice his offensive stats this year to pitch. That’s why he isn’t hitting 55 home runs this year.

@APercolatedFish@gundamm033@BENUSMN@PeterAppel23@loldev000 Back then you could take side medications your entire career w/o even knowing it was a steroid and still get away with it. Nowadays that shit gets checked. That’s why the era is tainted. Every player likely took it during those days even unknowingly.
@APercolatedFish@gundamm033@BENUSMN@PeterAppel23@loldev000 I don’t disagree that he was the greatest steroids hitter ever either. But it was based on him using steroids. Bond’s career numbers are heavily inflated. Everyone knows it was because of steroids. You can’t be the best if you had an unfair advantage.
