Introducing the useTool hook in the Meridial SDK.
It lets you add tools anywhere in your app and comes with a generateReply method. Here's how you can use it to build a voice assisted onboarding experience.
Here's how it works:
1. Drop the Voicebox component in your root layout and give it instructions for how the agent should behave. It handles the voice session end to end.
2. Use useTool inside any step component to give the agent real actions it can take like submitting forms, completing steps, and moving the user forward.
3. useTool hook also gives you a generateReply utility. Call it whenever something changes in your app and the agent will respond to it, so when a user moves to a new step the agent already knows and introduces it on its own.

#SaaS #VoiceAI #DeveloperTools #UserOnboarding
Iโm a pretty typical backend/engineering-first builder. For years I didnโt care much about UI details โ I focused on features, databases, deployments, and getting things working.
A few months ago I started working full-time on my own SaaS. The product worked, but it honestly feltโฆ flat. I used shadcn components so it looked โfineโ, but it didnโt have depth. I noticed something scary: even I didnโt feel like opening my own app. If I felt that way, users probably would too.
So last month I decided to learn Figma and redesign the whole thing.
What I did
Followed YouTube tutorials
Built my first small design system
Recreated my existing shadcn UI components in Figma
Then used that to redesign the product screens
What surprised me
I used to prototype only in code (and sometimes tools like v0), plus quick sketches in Excalidraw/pen & paper. But with Figma, I can move faster on layout and visual decisions before writing code โ and Iโm still on the free plan.
I attached a video of the redesigned product.
Would love feedback from folks here โ does the new UI feel more โaliveโ? What would you improve?
@RhysSullivan@ExaAILabs What if someone clicked "I don't want It".
I am working little something too in that direction of simplifying onboardings for saas.
Hwy @cap i wanted to record a 3 min walkthrough video for my new feature and it just doesnt work. The preview is laggy, the voiceover and interactions are completely out of sync. The preview shows my app in green, my app is purple in color. What can i do to fix it ?
Windows 11.
We launched less than a week ago and already hit double digits in conversations!
Iโm honestly so stoked to see people actually using it.

@AveryChernin I am using linkedin and cold mailing for now. I have a pretty huge list of YC founders who i think might use my product. Just finished it, now for next two months, personalized demos and marketing.
@BetterSayAJ@neatlogs@lossfunk I never got the concept of self healing, i have a voice agents for customer support.
What are you going to self heal ? Prompts ? My code ?
Exactly what is self healing, just trying to get my head around it.
