A skilled physician must recognize that true reproductive maturity is reached only when age and vitality are fully integrated - roughly 25 years for men, 16 for women.
If conception is forced earlier, the outcome is defective: the child may die early or live with weak physical and mental faculties.
Therefore, conception must not be attempted without full maturity and medical verification.
(पञ्चविंशे ततो वर्षे पुंसाचारी तु षोडशे। समवायगतवीर्यां तौ जानीयात् कुशलो भिषक्॥
उन्मोड्यावर्षायामप्रायः पञ्चविंशतिम्। यथाश्रुते पुमान् गर्भं कुर्यात् स विपर्ययः॥

(A girl must wait at least 3 years after menstruation before choosing a husband of her choice)
In pre-industrial era, menses would be around 14 years. This implies around 18 years is right age.
