I mis-clicked on one of my 150 open tabs and it happened to be a tab that's been open since 2019 with a paper that has a solution to the exact research problem I've been puzzling over today. This is the moment I've been waiting for and I've decided to never close any tabs again
A reminder to all management: these are the things you should discuss with an employment attorney before posting. I have no doubt that somewhere in Kentucky a plaintiff firm is already looking into this & this piece of paper will be exhibit 1 in their complaint. #Stopthis#emplaw
@iplitigate 👋 from South Carolina. I can’t tell you what a thrill it is to explain parts of the probate code to a non-attorney judge while simultaneously showing all due respect for the Court. So. Much. Fun.
SC bill prefiled (House Bill 4522) would prohibit public #highered from awarding tenure to professors hired in 2023 & after limiting them to 5 year contracts & other requirements. https://t.co/zSPIY1ll6x
When people want to understand you they can read a text full of typos & know exactly what you are saying.
BUT…
When people are intent on misunderstanding you there is nothing you can say that will make sense to them.
Feels great to be in person for the NC/SC Labor and Employment Law Conference in Charleston this year. I can honestly say I missed y’all. 😉 If you see me, I am smiling at you under my 😷 Feel free to give a safe, social distanced 👋 #emplaw#scbar#ncbar
My best advice for new attorneys and law students is that you do not have to be an asshole to practice law. You can be a good person who treats colleagues/opposing counsel with respect and still be an excellent advocate for your clients.
I audibly gasped while reading that article. 🤭Then I giggled in disbelief — I blame that on my sugary cup of tea. ☕️ Then I genuinely felt sadness for the counsel involved. Last few minutes have been a heck of a ride. 🎢 #BetterThanFiction
People don’t set out to be leaders. They don’t have to be the loudest voices in the room. They become leaders by bringing authenticity and integrity in everything they do.
Good reminder for #employers to train company personnel on how to handle reference checks. It’s often the little things that can leave you exposed. #HR#EmpLaw
"We will soon have no choice but to address how our legal doctrines apply to highly concentrated, privately owned information infrastructure such as digital platforms," Clarence Thomas writes in 12-page lament about the power of social media firms like Twitter, per @joshgerstein
