@AnfieldWatch I'll be honest, with the prices of a lot of the transfers this summer I do think it's better to be certain rather than just making signings for the sake of it.
Mental Health.
Just wanted to reach out to those struggling this summer, it's easy to fall into a trap that winter and darkness is the season where depression happens when many struggle all year round.
Summer is difficult, you're supposed to be enjoying being out with friends, holidays, nights out and having fun but although sunlight and vitamin D can help alleviate the very worst bouts of depression, for many the feelings of anxiety, depression and hopelessness still push through making life seem difficult especially when friends and family seem to be enjoying this time of the year.
I run, I eat well and try to do everything possible to maintain good mental health because I have no choice, I don't think I'd take another serious bout if I'm honest. Yesterday I had a great time watching cricket, great gym session and felt great, but with life's inevitable triggers ( my Mum would have been 95 today and it's completely flattened me, 10/10 anxiety) will always come and today one big one came.
If you're new here I first talked about my mental health 30 years ago in the days of "pull your socks up and get on with it", which more than once took me to a place where I thought I wouldn't return, so as 1 in 3 reading this will also struggle at some point I just thought I'd say there will always be triggers, there will always be days that seem frighteningly hard but know that by trusting in yourself, doing a few self care things ( exercise, eating well, reading, relaxing, things like a hot bath or early night, avoiding things that alter your mood, talking to friends or family) brighter days always follow. So please trust that as a fact.
Too many people got to the point where they took their own life rather than ask for help, something that feels so hard to do when you're struggling but once done can set you on a path where down the line you say to yourself " how did I ever get to that point? ".
Today I'm crippled with anxiety, 24 hours after feeling 9/10 great. That's the difference between having the blues for a day or two and being prone to at times serious mental health issues, so own your mental health as only you know what your story is. Logic tells me I've got a great chance of being 9/10 great again very soon. That hope and faith are worth trusting in, because for anyone and everyone struggling there's always better days ahead, just as long as you try to put things in place that add, rather than detract from your mental ( and physical) health.
If you're struggling today, call a friend, speak to a sibling or partner, because anxiety and depression loves solitude but hates being challenged by talking and opening up.

13 years since Gary Speed passed away. It’s ok to not be ok and support is out there for you.

Gary Speed would have been 55 today.
I know his death still produces strong emotions for so many people… and not just football fans.
I try and use today as a reminder to reach out to someone who might be struggling… to send a message to a friend or catch up with a family member and see if they are ok or need to talk ❤️
