A PD told me offline that their prev IMG-friendly program was no longer taking IMGs. That saved me from applying there but I still applied >200 OBGyn, got 2 IVs and didn't match OBGyn. Such a waste of money😞

For IMGs more than any other applicant group, too many applications are submitted at places that will never look at them. More than half of programs NEVER look at non-US IMGs and less than 7% often look at them. Program transparency is essential!

Are other schools doing this?
Who would attend an in-person graduation 1-2 yrs after having a virtual one during COVID?
So 3 years total graduations in a weekend.
Match is the true celebration for me.
I'd rather be looking for an apt.

@lilmedstudent God works in mysterious ways and knows things about the other programs that you don’t know. Trust in Him that you are exactly where you are meant to be. Be grateful you matched because there are many others who didn’t and were not able to get any residency at all.
i matched low on my list. it’s a good program and i’m so blessed they wanted me and there are so many good things about it. i’m struggling more with feeling incredibly inadequate and wondering how to accept that i just wasn’t good enough for so many other programs.
Went to urgent care bc my son’s earring grew into his ear. Doc had best bedside manner, ED trained in Detroit. Told him I was applying #OBGYNmatch2022 w/ only 2 IVs. Said his experience is -those determined to pursue a specialty will get there no matter what the path looks like.
@DrFredGrady This isn't the end of your story. My first Step 1 score was 152. Today I'm a medical school course director and I'm on an NBME question writing committee (and an exceptional Physician if I'm allowed to say so).
This isn't remotely the end of your story.
