“I lost colleagues whilst I was working each day and the government has barely acknowledged that fact… People were dying in front of us & the morgues were full. We had no body bags left in the trust.”
Please listen to this heart-rending testimony 😔
"I would like to ask whether you have communicated your concerns directly to the Prime Minister who, tonight, could similarly write to me and open pay negotiations with both junior doctors and consultants?" Read @DrPhilBanfield's reply to NHS England's letter on patient safety.
Today junior doctors and consultants rallied on the doorstep of the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester to show the government that we will not be silenced.
Thank you to everyone who came along. Together we will continue, stronger than ever, towards full pay restoration.
We’ve written to @RishiSunak to offer his Government the opportunity to end the pay dispute with consultants in England, by attending talks facilitated by the conciliation service ACAS. #FixConsultantPay https://t.co/3PkDoQvJIh
This is MP @PhilipDaviesUK. Much like the rest of the Tory party, he hates doctors. However, it seems he hates them even more than his other crony friends. The tweet below is a reply he sent to a doctor who sent him the BMA letter asking him to support the strikes.
The next round of #ConsultantStrike in England is from 7am 24 August - 7am 26 August.
We continue to seek talks with Government even though they want you to believe their mind is made up. They need us much more than we need them so we'll continue to fight to #FixConsultantPay
I know many people still think GPs are hiding, lazy or whatever.
Here is my day today, with some details changed to protect anonymity but still reflect the Monday I've worked

I am a NHS consultant. I am financially comfortable, in a job I love, so why am I striking tomorrow?
Answer: Because the next generation will not be able to live off what I do today. The juniors that will become these consultants know this and are leaving already.
Why? 🧵 👇
1. Tomorrow i will be supporting the NHS #ConsultantsStrike
About Me:
➡️ I am a cardiology consultant / professor @UHNM_NHS
➡️ i was from a working class background, i went to a state comprehensive. My dad left school at 16, mum at 12. I am the first / only member of my family to receive a higher education. I received a student grant to go to @UniofOxford. I left med school with little debt.
I could not afford to train as a doctor now.
What fabulous artwork from Let’s Get Messy #ArtClub led by @NadiaFarronato & @GenovaTiziana @MeadlandsSch
So amazing to look at our children’s work in relation to the artists they’re working with.
This morning we have written to the Health Secretary calling on him to meet with us, after only meeting with us once in the last 7 months. We remain willing to talk, it's not too late to properly negotiate. #FixConsultantPay

Doctors informed TODAY that they will have double strike deductions from July pay❗️
Amazing how organised they can be with pay when it’s to screw you over
