A doctor that attends to 1 patient besides thousands in dire need of small things that he can do without any added strain, is a bad doctor no matter how skilled. I take the same for God, there's no glory here considering the many houses he chose not to save, and many lives lost
I take it that God as default setn, ie things happen their way until something is done, and one of the things has never been. That's why things are bad in africa majorly because of our leadership, education levels, illiteracy etc besides prayers. And better organised countries
My apologies to everyone who was hurt or offended by my recent tweet. It was never intended to undermine or escalate the man of God. My intention was to encourage us to pray for our leaders.
I honestly didnโt realise my words would hurt so many people, and for that, I am truly sorry. I take back the tweet, and I sincerely apologise.
"A country humiliating its doctors is not merely mistreating employees; itโs killing its own emergency infrastructure. The doctor you frighten out of public service becomes the doctor who emigrates. The intern you impoverish becomes the specialist another country receives," writes

@MinofHealthUG this is a welcome move.
We however can not continue having these same fights every year.
The horrible gaps in the existing internship framework need to be resolved yesterday.
Service with honour.

Finally, Govtโ has acknowledged that all medical interns require facilitation, and is now going to reinstate the 1m allowance per month to each medical intern.
However, going forward, there ought to be a discussion on increasing the 1m, given the rising cost of living and inflation over the years.

WATCH: Dr Wilberforce Kabweru, the vice president of the Uganda Medical Association, says doctors are pleased with the progress made, but their demands have not been fully resolved. Kabweru says they still want to negotiate with the government for proper and meaningful contracts.

Mr. President @KagutaMuseveni even with all government doctors working 24/7, we still have a huge shortage of doctors in government health facilities. You should request for a report on the status of doctors in all government health facilities across thw country. Interns come in to supplement. A medical intern spends 5 years in a medical school to get a Bachelor's degree ( MBCHB). In comparison with a three year bachelor's degree programme that would be an equivalent of Bachelor's and master's degree. Check how much a scientist with a three Bachelor's degree is paid in government.
Paying a medical intern with MBCHB ugx 2.5M is small change. One would call it under employment. Interns are not students, they hold MBCHB.
Simcerely the people around you are telling you lies. For the good of the country, let us pay all medical interns. If need be let us reduce on the money for government student loans and pay medical interns. It's just one year. But we have a lot of money to pay A-level holders over ugx 60M per month on top of ugx 300M for a car and other benefits. So how can we fail to pay medical interns. We should have our priorities right.
These medical interns are our future doctors. Nobody knows whom we shall meet in the hospital a few years from now. The interns we neglect today may be the same future Doctors to save our lives tomorrow.
So we stand with medical interns. At times it takes sacrifice to achieve a long term solution. So I advise interns for remain united and fight together for the welfare of all.
No retreat no surrender. You have the support of Ugandans from all walks of life. Yours is a just cause. Fight till the end.
