Honestly I never would’ve gotten into gymming a year ago if it wasn’t for Cult
The barrier to entry for women is so high with gyms:
- male dominated space
- don’t know how seriously mgmt takes harassment/feeling unsafe in small ways
- equipment can vary so much
- if u relocate then have to find a new space from scratch
But having a subscription to something like a Cult that has:
- branding -> something about their branding feels more gender inclusive, the emphasis is on strength & health and not the macho physique messaging gyms have always had
- a standardised design & format for their gyms -> reduces uncertainty & friction from stepping into the space
- brand name -> holds them accountable publicly if anyth goes wrong
Even then getting into gymming with 0 experience + no friends to help me was hard. But a Cult membership reduced a lot of friction for me.
If you're in Bangalore, you might have heard about Pizza 4P's, the Vietnamese chain that's just opened here. Everyone raves abt the food & justifiably-it's outstanding (best in town, country, best ever- take your pick) But I want to talk about their outstanding service (🧵)
rest in peace, andre braugher. an absolute force of an actor and a treasure on and off screen. thank you for all the warmth and joy and laughs. rest easy, captain ❤️
Hi, I'm Maryam and I have an invisible disability and I don't like talking about it. Even now I know that I will be judged – maybe most people won't even believe that it's real. I had a tough day today (and its just 1 pm) so I thought might as well talk about it🧵
