@AntennaData What are the absolute numbers? True growth for @disneyplus and @hbomax is international not domestic, so showing this on a percentage basis for US-only probably doesn’t tell the whole story (a bit like scaling the y-axis to start at 50 for bar charts only showing values 80-100).
@TZM_TMT Bottom line is that the 2 minute metric probably isn’t that meaningful to gauge U.S. audience engagement/interest in international content given who knows how many people “try it out”, only watch a few minutes and then exit (probably a lot)
@WaredSeger @aagave @ScottPorch @netflix Historically film models/ultimates/cash flow waterfalls were used value content. Not for Netflix. They probably value content better than anyone, for a while now. Disney licensing MCU/Star Wars to Netlfix showed they knew how to value content (for cash flows) but not really..
@ballmatthew@vlasso Will @Roblox etc partner with entertainment apps? Then instead of @AppleTV, @Roku etc you access entertainment apps through a gaming platform where instead of click-through icons, you access apps through an open interface/world, an open place to hang out while deciding what to do

@ballmatthew@loudmouthjulia Doubt Mulan was ever going to be a hit in China regardless of controversy. It’s basically Hamilton played by an American cast speaking only Chinese.
@rameeztase@raoulm@houseofhighligh@BachelorABC Hard to silo to young people unless argument is driving young viewership of live sports. A personal antidote: in 2009 (in college) when @netflix streaming was new, my friends and I (huge sports fans) chose to binge Lost vs watch @NFL playoff games - we laughed about it afterwards
@rameeztase@raoulm@houseofhighligh A non-sports analogy: if all ad slots were removed from live broadcast of @BachelorABC would that drive viewership? Guessing probably not meaningfully. Back to live sports, just seems ad experience isn’t a meaningful driver given choice of video content now vs only linear before
