I thought I would wait for the weekend to share little secrets but this one is urgent.

Today the President assented to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Bill at a colorful ceremony that was attended by primary and high school students, since it is the law that will be used to preserve national wealth for future generations under provisions on “Uriithi Fund”.

The Sovereign Wealth Fund Act comes on the heels of the National Infrastructure Fund Act, also recently signed by the President. One law helps us generate national wealth in the present, the other helps us preserve and bequeath to future generations.

Secret — career pathways are made in such historic moments. If you decide to write research papers in these areas, the marketing work has already been done for you by so many institutions, but especially by Kenya’s chief executive and chief global ambassador. You will not walk into any institution in the world and not be relevant as a fountain of knowledge or experience.

Someone already gave this little secret to the youngsters and students who attended today’s signing. The path has been blazed for them.

Msidoz if you have an interest in finance, law, economics, engineering, governance of community resources etc. And those already on course, I am wishing you all the best.
