I was the on call Anaesthetic resident for emergency theatres last weekend and a trainee SCP was first assist for certain cases e.g lap appendix and was doing other cases e.g abscesses with local supervision. I felt really uncomfortable with this. 1/n

@ronansetron @danfurmedge i did however had a fab time in dghs my final 2 years as being in 4-5x a week i was able to self-arrange my time and have some form of rapport with the trainees and consultant. However i know from my friends this is rarely the case in london hospitals 😕

@ronansetron @danfurmedge can confirm as a kcl grad this year the curriculum has gotten even worse, the lack of continuity deters teams to put effort in (most times) and you just get kicked around until someone feels sorry and takes you on board

@Xeon4f145d96s1 adding on to this I (alongside many other colleagues) had no choice but to use this changing room bcs our lockers (as students) were in a diff building and we were not allowed to be going in/out wearing scrubs to that building bcs of “infection control”. make it make sense

@Xeon4f145d96s1 this is incredibly similar (if not that exact “changing room”) i had to use as a student in a big south london hosp. still baffles me to this day bcs it was always overflowing, constantly had to wait to use the “loo” (big h&s concern imo bcs of personal bags and coats presence)
