Today we honor the nearly 3,000 men, women, and children who died on September 11, 2001, and the heroes who have always run towards danger to do what’s right. Let’s never forget that day, and let’s never take them for granted.
We have spent the past few years debating how oppressive the U.S. is. These images of Afghans clinging to a U.S. plane and falling from the sky are a damn sobering reminder that while there are no utopias, we'd better appreciate the society we were lucky enough to be born into.
While our eyes are focused on the #ChauvinTrial, new deaths race to fill up our vision + break our hearts. Unarmed children are not men. Their deaths are never justifiable. And a traffic stop should not be fatal. God grant us mercy until the law gives us justice.
