Ballmer may not be a founder or even employee 1, but he was definitely key to building the small company to what it eventually grew up to be.

The fundamental question is what is the next frontier in advanced tech and who is building that future. For me the answer is easy, and hence my order is in.

None of these analysis works for entirely new industries that were never done before.
@BuyEnglishMade In 1995, It got sold off to an investor group that included the chinese government's rare earth mining company. Soon, the US factory was shutdown and moved to china. Thats how china got their rare earth start.
@BuyEnglishMade US had its fair share of mishaps where key companies got sold to chinese companies and other various technology transfers. One good example is Magnequench (subsidiary of GE), which actually developed the rare earth based tech for magnets.
