Before I came to Christ

When I was a child

I caused an accident that took the life of my little brother.

I ruined my family.

My mother was torn between blaming herself and blaming me.

She gave me up to her sister because she didn’t have it in her to be my mom.

We had an estranged relationship.

There were consequences to my actions.

I had a bad relationship with my parents and my remaining siblings.

After Christ, I sought reconciliation with my family.

With Jesus help I reconciled with my older sister and younger brothers and my dad. My older brother and I are still estranged. But I’m still praying.

I sought reconciliation with my unsaved mother, who has every right to hate me and deny me.

And she admitted to her faults and apologized and we have a great relationship now.

My mother has since turned to Jesus seeing what He has done to me. Seeing how He redeemed me. How He cleansed me and redeemed me.

But the way my unsaved mother embraced me so lovingly and forgave me for what I had done and who I was, and NEVER ONCE since we reconciled has thrown it in my face even if we get into a disagreement.

Speaks volumes to those self proclaimed Christian’s who still throw past sins of redeemed people in their face.

God is Good. Jesus redeems. Jesus Makes us new. He does NOT hold our sins against us. He does NOT try to claim consequences of sin as a reason to hold them against us.

Praise Him for that.

If you can’t be a virgin man and Mary a now redeemed woman with a past, then I should never have children being someone who once took a child’s life.

Even though I have been redeemed and now lead middle school and high school kids to Christ and lead 2nd and 3rd graders to Christ.

Thank God that mind set isn’t biblical.

Thank Jesus for forgiveness and mercy and grace. Grace that many many self proclaimed Christians lack and unsaved people have shown.

That’s a problem guys and gals.

That’s a serious problem.

We should be the light of Christ. Not the ones who condemn.
