Minister Faafoi announced 20k workers would come to NZ under changes to the critical worker criteria in January. To the end of April 12 have arrived. Not 12 thousand. 12. This visa becomes obsolete on July 4 so unless 19,988 are arriving before then it’s another failed policy.

Next year employers will need to be accredited if they want to hire a short term working holiday maker. This could cost up 1k a year plus paperwork to hire a WHM for a just few months during peak times in a hospo or tourism business.

@EricaStanfordMP And approve residency for people waiting in the EOI queue since March 2020. It’s so unfair to overlook people who genuinely have been waiting and have missed out on R21 only because of a faulty policy!
