Nysc was great for me; I met fantastic people, and I loved the one year I spent in Owerri. When I got my first job in lagos, it was a friend I met in camp who accommodated me for a few months. You don't scrap institutions like this; you make them better. I know that's my experience, and some had bad ones. But overall, a year to get to know other places and learn new cultures isn't wasted time. I didn't miss anything by going for Nysc; I'm where I want to be now. That one year is still just one year out of my life, and I enjoyed the experience. Again, it's one man's POV
