1. Why isn’t the Government transparent about who the Ethanol suppliers to OMCs are?

2. If they’re private players, why hasn’t the Government set up its own Ethanol plants, as Gadkari Ji proudly announced in 2018?

3. If Ethanol costs more than Petrol, then how did Gadkari Ji promise Petrol at ₹55?

No vision. No plan. Just dumping their decisions on people at whatever price they wish. When questioned, they spin the same tired fairy tales, “Safe… No issues… It’s costly…”, yet never show a single real number.

Why is it needed for Chennai?? A long read! Share Max.

Firstly people who’s lands are being acquired for #Parandur Airport are being given :
🔹 3-4 times the market value of the land
🔹Alternate housing is being given to them just next to the project site . Tenders are already out for it
🔹Govt jobs are being promised to the people

➡️Now political parties should push the govt to make sure these benefits reach the people which they truly deserve rather than telling to completely drop the project!
➡️Chennai badly needs a new airport! The existing one at Meenambakkam has planned max capacity of 35 MPA and it’s the smallest in terms of area among all airports. Nearby Bengaluru (70MPA) or Hyderabad (70MPA) have bigger capacities. Mumbai & Delhi are building 2nd airports too. Bengaluru is going for 3rd airport
➡️One can’t acquire land at the existing airport. Getting land from OTA is close to impossible and cost of acquiring land at nearby Gerugambakkam is costlier than that at Parandur.
➡️ Existing one has a river too flowing through it and its layout has always been an issue given its narrow access via GST Rd. Cargo terminal is small as well and we have been losing to Bengaluru/Hyderabad in terms of Logistics ecosystem
➡️Airport is just not about the rich people flying. Reports suggest that more Indians will fly in the next 10 yrs. Indian Airlines have 1,000+ planes or order and we need airports to cater to them! Parandur with a full fledged airport will supports Logistics+ Warehousing ecosystem, Hotels, MRO etc providing jobs for Lakhs!
➡️4-5 sites were studied for a 2nd airport for Chennai & Parandur was found the best considering various factors! It’s literally impossible for find 4,000+ acres around Chennai without a water body or agri land!
➡️ Lastly the water bodies there at Parandur are man made lakes! The govt has setup a commission & studied its impact! New artificial lakes will be built with diversion water channel to prevent flooding! Any infra project will have its consequences! Mettur Dam was built submerging several villages. Today it’s the lifeline to several TN’s District!!

Plz support the project! It’s need of the hour! TN and Chennai deserves a world class airport. Plz keep politics away 🙏🙏

Where are we heading as a society?. Just 25 yrs before, we had less plastics, we carried own oil bottles, baskets, drank from glass bottles. Now, everything is plastics, from Milk to Agarbatti, biscuits to shampoos. Unless we stop manufacturing plastics, nothing gonna change 1/2

Nitin Gadkari has consistently made statements against diesel vehicles. He said it after this election results too.

Instead of threatening diesel vehicles with more taxes, focus should be on building robust EV charging infrastructure nationwide and making EVs cheaper than conventional vehicles.

Along with this, establish guidelines for auto companies to train or hire EV service engineers. Most companies source batteries from vendors who also supply other EVs too, leading to long wait times when problems arise, as vendor service personnel handle repairs instead of the car companies.

The minister should also clarify his vision for the primary fuel driving Indian vehicles to avoid policy confusion. At one point, he talks about 100% ethanol; at another, EVs; and elsewhere, hydrogen cars. For a middle-class Indian family, a car is a significant long-term investment—too risky to be subject to such inconsistent policies.

Create the right conditions, and people will naturally shift away from fossil fuels. Threats won't help.

Also, only 12.5% of diesel is consumed by cars; almost all of the rest is used by the transport industry (buses, trucks, etc.). They're silent now because it's all talk. But if the govt imposes extra taxes on diesel vehicles, we could see a transport industry protest and another embarrassing rollback.

Returns from contributions made by government and employees are not guaranteed. Whereas pensions are guaranteed at 50% of last drawn salary. When what you are going to receive is uncertain but what you are going to pay is certain; you would end up in a financial mess. Well done Modi.

Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) got approved.

23 Lakh government employees will benefit from this scheme.

Under UPS a 50% assured pension (of average basic pay of last 12 months) will be paid.

Provided, you have completed 25 years of service.

Like everything else:
- Some people will celebrate this move
- Some will criticise it
- Some will make this political

But, very few would understand its economic implication.

[1] Our nation has already been burdened with excessive debt.
[2] To the point that: government is increasing taxes on everything each year.
[3] Justification: since debt is high. How else would we pay it?

Then we have such moves, which adds 1000s of crores of additional expenses.

Such unproductive spent comes back and bites you in the form of draconian taxation & inflation. Private sector employees will bear the cost.

We tax like a first world country, offer benefits like a 3rd world country. And, fight each other like a jungle raj country.

Post 1947, when it was time for India to choose our path of economic progress, we embraced the path of Socialism. As ideal as it was on paper, what we got in reality was more than 50 years of Govt apathy and indifference.

And even today, some products linger around that serve as a striking reminder of those dark days of absolute govt nothing doingness, or a govt which made things worse.

Let's start with the popularity of water purifiers in India. They are a reminder of the spectacular incapability of our previous Govts to provide potable tap water.

Then there is the roaring market for domestic Gensets and Inverters. It's there because our previous govts never gave us continuous power supply.

And then there are these Voltage Stabilizers. Something that reminds of the spectacular ability of our Govt's propensity to supply power at voltages so unstable that it had the ability to destroy our devices like Thanos.

Now Correct me if I am wrong, but I honestly don't think an advanced society has any place for these products. These devices are actually a sign of how bad a govt is in providing public service.

And the day the sales of these products crash or disappear, is the day we can claim that we are making real progress.
