This is a Prime Minister touching a woman journalist's face to silence her. To dominate. To show power. This is a man who thinks a woman's body is his podium.

Same man deployed stun grenades, tear gas, water cannons, armed police against students. Same man detained 6,800 people, majority minors. Same man in dead of night announced plan to lower age of criminal responsibility so protesting children can be sent to prison.

Same man ordered armored vehicles onto streets against unarmed students.

Same man whose police blew off a 15 year old student's hand with a stun grenade.

Same man who every year puts Albania among lowest for press freedom. Same man documented by Reporters Without Borders for political pressure, verbal abuse, judicial harassment of journalists. Same man who attacks journalists, labels outlets, calls critical reporting foreign forces.

Flamingo Revolution starts and he says Russia mobilized tens of thousands of fake accounts. He says Iran republic of terror is instigating unrest. He says there are no coincidences. Every criticism is foreign plot. Every journalist is foreign agent. Every student is terrorist.

He touches a journalist's face because he believes no one will stop him. He jails children because he believes no one will stop him. He sends armored cars because he believes no one will stop him.

He is a coward who hits women and jails children and hides behind foreign forces excuse.

A hand that touches a woman journalist's face is a hand that will sign orders to crush students. A hand that jails minors is a hand that will never be respected.

This is who he is. Monster with state power. Predator with police.

Australia's govt debt non-crisis. A fuss about peanuts.
Gross govt debt was steady this week at $994.9 billion.
It has been at or around this level for the best part of a year with the trivial budget deficit keeping debt levels on a very gradual glide path higher.
Next week, the govt will borrow just $4.0 billion of bonds & T-Notes – there are no maturities which means next Friday gross debt will be $998.9 billion.

That is very bad news.
The ABC has such a low priority on economics & markets that a small team is left to carry the can on the most important issue for society - the economy.
Shows like Insiders rarely mention economic issues, let alone debate them. So too podcasts like Politics Now where we know more about the presenters children's thoughts on politics than analysis of what is happening in the economy.
The ABC funds juvenile shows like Planet America as part of its saturation coverage of things in the US.
Listen to the ABC news - more likely to cover a storm in US mid-west than details of the Australian labour market. Or a random shooter in some wretched town down south. Of course it covers every brain-fart of Trump, but stuff-all on unfolding economic issues in Australia.
