RAVENS ALL DAY! This morning in a nationwide Kahoot competition among (about 1,000) AP Psych students, Maddie got 3rd place, Hayden got 4th and Jessie got 6th!! Couldn’t be more proud!! 💙🖤💙
BIG thank you to @KansasCityZoo for sending two AMAZING experts today to visit with our AP Psych students about operant conditioning and animal training! And a HUGE thank you to Julie (@OPSSocStudies) for making it happen. Great application of classroom learning!
@ONWRavenSoccer and I are SUPER grateful for @EWagnerONW who created the most AMAZING experience for our AP Government students today to register to vote for our Mock Congress simulation! We are so lucky to have Mrs. Wagner at ONW- she adds so much value to our school!
If you want to predict kids' screen time, look to their parents.
Children spend less time on devices when their parents use them less often—and ban them at meals & bedtime.
Kids internalize the values they observe. A key to being a good role model is setting healthy boundaries.
Fun start to the morning- we are super proud of Alexander for getting 2nd place in a national AP Psych review Kahoot this morning! He beat 800+ other students! Let’s go Ravens! We are ready for the AP Psych test tomorrow! 📝🧠
Today was an AMAZING day of PD- AP Psych collaboration over the new curriculum, neurodiversity session that was FULL of discussion and takeaways, and finally a field trip to the @KansasCityZoo to see Psychology in action! As always, @OPSSocStudies knocked it out of the park!
THANK YOU @KansasCityZoo for hosting our ONW AP Psychology students to learn about operant conditioning in action. My big takeaway was that animal training requires relationships and trust while using + reinforcement! And a HUGE TY to @OPSSocStudies for making today possible!
@kasmultimedia@AngSuperPowers Finally, we got to hear from the AMAZING @ahillman25 who provided a truly energetic and engaging experience! She showed us how to build classroom culture and engage students in their learning through Focused Attention Practices. Great, brain-based learning strategies.
It was a great day at the KEEN Conference in Topeka! The conference theme was “Choose Joy” and Mr. DC (TOY from MO) gave the best definition of joy I have ever heard- overcoming challenges with resilience and optimism.
I was also honored to present about Student PD Day with @kasmultimedia and @AngSuperPowers We thoroughly enjoyed sharing about the incredible ways that ONW teachers prepare students for their futures. It truly was a great day! 🍎❤️
Today was so special presenting at the KEEN KS Exemplary Educators Ed Conference. Last year @AngSuperPowers, @meg_swag and I were to present about our ONW Student PD Day: Learning Beyond the Classroom, but ice canceled it. 1 year later but we are still making an impact together!
