lestat has always been corny and cringey and i'm glad they're actually adapting that. the only difference is that in the show it's 2025, and not the 80s like in the book
itβs kinda funny seeing gen z call some of lestats dialogue corny and thinking itβs cause the writers are millenials and not because lestat is like. a 265 year old man trying to make sense of the modern world and would say/has always said some cringe shit
anyway, i didnβt read the article floating around (and iβll believe the responses that itβs harmful). i just hope people stay open to ways our brains can affect our physical symptoms, because it not only gave me my hands + livelihood back, but itβs also a rly cool field of study
weird day on the tl as someone who understands the harm of pathologizing complex chronic illness but who also only fully recovered from debilitating chronic pain through mind-body work
there are VERY specific criteria for the cases mind-body work can help with. it sucks that itβs being framed as either total bunk or the only solution. itβs difficult to bring up responsibly without feeding into the widespread dismissal of people suffering chronic issues
me: i sure hope they want to keep things casual and also date other people
them: letβs keep things casual and also date other people
me: oh so you hate meβ¦got it
