@shoothism no i assumed you were being bad faith and unserious from the start. its just that i have a high level of dignity so i treat everyone with good faith regardless of my presumptions on their intention as a way of trying to reach out and connect with those i disagree with.
@shoothism its not that i just FEEL that i am beautiful but intellectually think i am ugly. i fully intellectually believe i am beautiful looking. the prettiness has little to do with anything is my point
@shoothism and by the way im blowing up at you for being a moron who assumes shit about people because you are so deeply incapable of understanding other perspectives that you have to constantly desperately project fake ideas onto me to make me seem biased.
@shoothism@AlephTheRealOne you are 100% incapable of putting yourself in someones shoes i have scarcely ever seen someone more incapable of it.
and i dont feel i am ugly at all so you're wrong for assuming that.
you are the one who cant understand something as simple as being unbothered by incongruence
@shoothism@AlephTheRealOne@brdmoedr bot farm? there is no way you think im a bot when i am replying so earnestly.
this is how you give up the argument? you just assume shit about me and when i say its not true you just post a crying laughing emoji? you have no dignity.
@tfpumpreloaded@capracopia you are projecting. and people are more introspective than you give them credit for. maybe some are full of shit but i think most genuinely understand themselves when they say this stuff.
@AlephTheRealOne@brdmoedr have YOU considered that you only care about your body because you are far too self-involved and superficial towards appearances? genuinely
@AlephTheRealOne@brdmoedr yes i have considered that outcome. and i believe i have enough empathy and self-awareness to understand that isnt true.
i feel strongly that my body is insignificant. i believe my identity is defined by the goals i want to accomplish, and my body is just a tool to do it.
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr i mean yeah.
frankly if someone told me that they could just get over it and not become depressed after all of their beloved friends and family died, i would still take their word for it.
i hate people going "you cant comprehend it unless you experienced it" i trust their empathy
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr -and honestly i dont necessarily think it has to become crippling before it gets better. this stuff might genuinely upset someone but they're just equipped better to accept themselves pretty fast no matter the body.
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr i dont know about this language. its important to note that mental illness is not just some affliction that happens to you like physical illness is.
the only way someone saying "im fine" wouldnt work is if they were just lying when they say it.
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr well i think the people who dont care are the people OP is referring to honestly, cause i dont really see almost anyone at all replying to the original tweet like "it would cause me immense pain but i would just ignore it".
if thats not the case then i take the blame though my b
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr i seriously AM going off the OP, its just that i am interpreting the idea of "tanking it" to mean not getting gender dysphoria at all.
thats what everyone has been saying, that they wouldnt really care
if the premise was that they'd have gender dysphoria then that implies caring
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr i honestly think that IS what the OP is saying.
"gender dysphoria" would mean getting hit with the disorientation of a new body basically
"tanking it" would basically be what i am saying where you dont get it at all. cause otherwise what else would it mean? not killing yourself?
@lurkmaxxer_@brdmoedr no the original premise of the hypothetical was "what if you woke up in another body" where are you getting this idea that the premise contains anything about "a person with gender dysphoria"
