@LauraFMcConnell My p4 teacher had a group "the daffy daffodils" for pupils who were stupid or not listening, belittling us. Used to put our milk on the radiator then make us drink it. She got the class to laugh at me - I'd do nothing with my life and was adopted. /1
@LauraFMcConnell Kept me on detention til 4pm not telling my mum and mum had my brother scouring the streets for me and was about to call the police. /2
@EdinburghEIS "it's why we continue to liaise with teachers [through CERG]" aye so ye have. There has been no liaising. More like dictating what is happening. No enhanced measures for levels 3&4 is unacceptable. Teachers did not stop for a term this year. We worked harder. #NotAtAllCosts
@NUthmani There needs to be no subtlety in dealing with this. It needs to go straight to SLT. Make sure your friend puts in the letter how it has made them feel. That they do not know who gifted it. If SLT don't deal then it needs taken to a higher level.
@NUthmani I've tried to think of a comment and deleted so many times as I can't even compose something. I actually have no words. For me that is something. Jaw dropped and speechless to the point of anger.
Hi everyone! We’re two teachers from Glasgow who’ve made a Christmas song to try to sum up how many are feeling this year. Please have a listen and retweet! https://t.co/eYUzCFyfhc
@suzannezeedyk Johann Hari writes a lot about this too. Lack of hope, loneliness, trauma, lack of support networks, isolation, poverty etc all play a part and not just the substances themselves. We need to break the cycle through providing hope, education and love in my opinion.
