These are the pages of my inaugural poem that an objecting parent cited as "not educational and have indirectly hate messages". And now because of that one complaint, my poem is now banned for elementary school students at a school in @MiamiDadeCounty.
Today, one of my students who has struggled with motivation, told everyone in the class “This is the first interesting thing I’ve learned all year!” She then proceeded to ask so many questions about the topic. She made my day, I love teaching 8th grade!
A chief medical officer broke down crying talking about those who treated the victims from MSU.
Healthcare providers answer the call and see the brutal aftermath of gunshot wounds.
Why do we continue to let gun violence traumatize our children and country like this?
"Either you care about protecting kids or you don't.
We have children in Michigan living through their second school shooting in a year and a half.”
Thank you @RepSlotkin for having the courage to call it like it is. We must do more.
Now and in the future, we must remain steadfast in our efforts to ensure the torch of remembrance shines bright.
Within our classrooms & other places of learning, the world must never forget what can happen when hatred is allowed to thrive unchecked. #HolocaustRemembrance Day
Never forget…Bless these angels and their hero’s protecting them. Do not go quietly into the night…I pray that we rage against a system that has allowed our most precious possessions to be taken

While you slept last night, the PA GOP started pushing a constitutional amendment to ban the right to an abortion in PA.
This is a full on assault on women. If they succeed, by this time next year PA could have the same abortion laws as TX.
We can’t let that happen.
