On Monday we made our first trip of the year to a group of #Raven nest sites on #Anglesey! Saw signs of breeding activity from 3 sites with one having a clutch of 2 - quite small!

Other notable sights included Peregrine, 2 Chough pairs, Black Oil Beetle, and the sun! ☀️👌

Delighted to say I've earned my MScRes for my study: "The effects of changing livestock practices on the breeding performance of the Common Raven (Corvus corax) in Northwest Wales".

Happily, my time with this study will continue as I work towards its publication.

We've been gradually earning the trust of a local pair of crows and now they visit us everyday!
Love to watch them hop around the garden as they look for the perfect spot to cache their food, usually in the lawn and covered with freshly pulled grass for good measure! #CrowBro

FYI tail wagging in birds is sexual. The raven thinks they're pair bonded, not that this dude is its parent.

Ravens are like parrots in that they require very strong partner bonds. Imprinted birds try to form those bond with people, hence the behaviors seen here.

Not my photo, each bag of wool here is worth about £8, many farmers burn or bury. A natural, biodegradable fibre going to waste yet every day people buy new clothes made from man made fibres that end up polluting the environment with micro fibres. People we have got this wrong..
