Lord Jesus, in the year ahead: help me to live more like you lived, help me to care more like you cared, help me to serve more like you served, and help me to love more like you loved. Help me to be more like you at the end of the year than I was at the beginning.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.“ (2 Cor. 12:9) Makes me wonder why I spend so much time and energy wrestling with my weaknesses, and trying to overcome them. Sounds like if I could learn to embrace them, they would lead me to Jesus.

If we can learn to embrace the groaning of Advent, rather than avoid, escape, or deny it, we will find God at its center. This groaning is intended to build desire and expectation and anticipation that will make us truly ready for His coming.
