Being called ‘strong’ is not as much of a compliment as you think it is. Especially when your life has been programmed in order to ‘stay strong’ or else you crumble and there isn’t anyone there to pick up the pieces the way you need.
im going to openly admit that physically im fine but emotionally and mentally im not okay at all. and thats okay. i feel myself slipping again...but i wanted to let you know that
Aye just apologize when you know that you fucked up... How you gone be mad at a person for being mad at you when they have a legit reason to be, that’s just weird shit... People love to say they grown until it’s time to hold they self accountable
I had some suicidal thoughts this week, felt like I was slipping back into a depression that was a lot stronger than I was.
Felt guilt & shame for my past mistakes, felt worthless & stupid.
I am human & constantly evolving! I have to be easier on myself ♥️
Forgive yourself!
Apologize to your kids when you lose your composure. They don’t understand why you’re upset and they deserve an explanation and an apology. Doesn’t matter that they’re little. They’re little humans too. Good relationships are built on trust, honesty, openness and mutual respect.
Here we go again. Mental health matters. No one handles things the same. Nor does anyone else ever truly know what someone else is going through behind the scenes.
It’s not a cop out. Show compassion. Show kindness. Show understanding.
I wish I was held more, comforted more, seen more, heard more & had a shoulder to cry on more when I was breaking & falling apart during the lowest moments of my life... but I didn’t. Instead, I faced many of those moments alone & found what it truly means to only have yourself.
Shaming people for not giving grace to their bad parents feels to close to victim blaming…
I hate that we’ve made forgiveness a symbol of virtue and maturity. You absolutely do NOT have to extend forgiveness to anybody who denies your personhood. Parents included.
When we reach our lowest point in life, the biggest helpful factor is realizing we have nowhere else to go but up. Once you identify what rock bottom is for you, identifying the steps to rise up is easy. What’s hard is not letting ourselves get to rock bottom again.
