Meant to tweet this two days ago. But it has been a year (and two days) since JD Vance said, after a mass shooting, that it's ridiculous to think that calls for prayer are a way to deflect responsibility for taking action against gun violence.

Maybe action will come next year.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton played no part in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people.

I do understand they probably feel this is needed to draw people in to see the movie. just feel bad that people who only see the movie are robbed of the slow reveal of his character.
