Sometimes regulation begins with remembering the body was shaped in relationship with wind, water, light, texture, earth, and seasons. Not constant notifications and artificial urgency.
Your body is constantly adapting to the environments you spend the most time inside.
Not only physically, but emotionally, cognitively, relationally, and neurologically.
The nervous system is always listening to what your life keeps asking it to become.
Chronic stress can narrow the body’s capacity to fully receive pleasure.
Healing often begins by intentionally prioritizing moments of beauty, safety, sensation, and genuine enjoyment again.
Receiving is a nervous system skill.
My latest piece, Your Skin Has Always Known, explores how warmth, water, touch, and sensation can help the body remember how to receive again.

We must not starve the sensual body. For the sensual body feeds the erotic body,
which awakens the wild body,
which feeds the creative body,
which inspires ecstasy, fulfillment, & joy.

Did you know that the heart has its own set of brain cells? These neurons help regulate heart rate and respond to stress. The heart truly is more than just a pump! #heartbrain#neuroscience
Researchers found oxytocin stimulates stem cells from the heart's outer layer and migrates into the middle layer where it develops into muscle cells that generate heart contractions.

@NatalieGeld@NatureNeuro@BernardJBaars Fascinating!! Just a thought- curious if newer networks can be more easily integrated through engaging in somatic practices other engagement activities which anchor memory within the body.
Water molecules can float upwards, against gravity, they ❤️ to stick to each other & pull each other up thru tiny blood vessels in your body (capillary action). That's how #oxygen & nutrients reach edges of your #brain.
