@ka_morian0121 The only reason why Rob won was because the faithful were probably the least smartest group yet and they got all the gamers out early. Plus they all thought he was too cute to be a traitor.
I was joking with my wife earlier this morning. She was being a bit petty about something, so I challenged her playfully: "Name one thing I love more than you."
She didn't even blink. She said "God."
It struck me immediately. I loved that she said it, and even more, I loved that she felt safe saying it. She understands that God's place in my life isn't a threat to her, it's her security. In a healthy marriage, God isn't the competition. He is the context.
But as the day went on, the question nagged at me: ‘What does it actually mean to love God "more" than a person you can see, touch, talk to and even sleep next to?’
In Christian circles, we say "God first" so often that it barely registers anymore. If we aren’t careful, it starts to sound like we’re supposed to regulate our affection, love her a little less so there’s room for Him. But that’s not how it works.
Loving God more isn't about the volume of our affection. It's about the authority of our devotion. It's not about who you have the strongest feelings for, it's about who serves as your ultimate reference point.
I've been deep in a study of Eden lately, and I keep coming back to a haunting realization: Adam didn't fall because he was a villain. He fell because he was a lover who lost his way.
When the serpent drew Eve into that theological trap, Adam was right there. He stayed silent. In my eyes, it wasn't a lack of information, it was a choice of allegiance. He chose relational preservation over divine obedience.
In that moment, his love for Eve became detached from his love for God, and love without a vertical anchor quickly becomes complicity.
Adam didn't love Eve "too much." You can't love a person too much. But you can love them wrongly. He allowed her voice to become the final authority, effectively making her his god.
I've had the occasional temptation toward spiritual bravado, to think in Adam’s shoes, "I would have chosen God." But I know that's a lie. Adam fell while he was perfect. I struggle to stand while I'm broken. The only reason I can even attempt to love God "more" than my wife is cos grace has begun to reorder my heart.
And what I'm learning is that loving God first doesn't drain the love I have for my wife. It actually rescues it.
When I put God in His rightful place, I stop asking my wife to be my savior. I stop demanding she carry the weight of my identity or my peace, a weight she was never meant to bear. When God is first, she is finally free to be human. And I can love her fully cos I no longer need her to be my everything.
Eden wasn't lost because Adam's love was too strong. It was lost cos his love was out of alignment. Redemption doesn't ask us to love our people less. It invites us to love them better, by keeping our eyes on the One who gave them to us in the first place.
I know this landed on marriage, but I feel like the dynamic plays out everywhere. What other relationship makes you tempted to let someone else’s voice be the final word?
The world we live in is SO EVIL that we dn't even allow KIDS TO BE KIDS without trying to label them or judge them. Just because your gait is feminine doesn't equal be gay. Let KIDS BE KIDS without Labels or judgement from your OWN simple brains, insecurities and struggles.
The way people put labels on CHILDREN is SICK!!!!🤮🤮🤮 This is a CHILD and y'all labeling him gay and he probably isn't even thinking about being gay nor straight. He is just trying to be a KID!
A 10-year-old boy was repeatedly bullied by a classmate for being called “gay,” reported it multiple times to his teacher, and then the teacher herself mocked him by saying he walks “gay.” 👀😳
Y’all can f*ck around this election and see what it’s like living under unhinged Republican rule if y’all want. We’re experiencing it right now in Louisiana so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Introverts shut down when they're going through shit. They want no sympathy. No advice. No "fixing". All they want is silence & solitude. They know how to pull themselves out. Just leave them alone for a while.
Respectfully, colleague - The disappointing thing about this take is you actually can’t have an informed opinion on this if you are choosing to be gender neutral and racially indifferent. Because that is impossible. Her existence as a black woman shapes both how she is seen by others and how she sees the world. And in this case how she is seen by you.
Your response here is actually full of opinions that indirectly (and directly) involve both race and gender. It’s just coded to unsuccessfully soften the blow. You have to ask why Angel became the villain. You have to ask why her role as ‘villain’ has not allowed her to also be human. You have to wonder why her being asked a question and simply answering has led to this level of discourse. You have to ask what you mean when you say Angel wants to talk grown or pose grown?? What is ‘grown’ a substitute for? You have to ask why trash talking - a practice many athletes engage in - is seen so much harsher when it comes from someone that looks like her. You have to ask how some of the ideas you expressed fuel the fire of the aforementioned marginalization. You have to ask why you heard her discuss unacceptable treatment and your reaction was to discuss how she can’t address it. And I have to ask if you spoke to any black women athletes about their experiences in order to give a more enlightened take before you came and said this.
Angel has absolutely made herself a public figure and she should be open to the criticism pertaining her game and persona. She should also be allowed to express when those criticisms are out of bounds. Why did you cling to her reaction as opposed to the vitriol that caused it? She certainly does not deserve sympathy for losing a game. She deserves sympathy for being attacked and targeted for things outside of said game.
As much as you believe this to be a take without bias, your reasoning proves the point you are fighting against. Opinions are opinions, and everyone is entitled, but our opinions are shaped by the paradigms we know. I hope no one says they are taking out gender and race, because in a black woman’s world, we do not have that choice. I hope you realize your luxury and privilege by being able to say what you said. I hope you look around and notice the people that have delighted and applauded seeing a black man get on television and give THIS opinion on a young black woman. Because it’s not for the reasons you think.
That’s my take.
Use common sense. She looks older, and it also looks like some wind could be involved. It's just an unfortunate situation. Big ups to the two good samaritans. Have some compassion, guys. 💜
I'm so glad this is finally happening.
These Black men are lying for views.
I've known that "statistic" was a lie for a long time.
This video breaks it down further.
Please watch it.
