I know i should be focused on making my main game, but..
my wife is convinced that building a game about our story, of traveling with just one suitcase, and finding our permanent home around the world is much more interesting..
is she right??

imagine, you are just happily going about playing the game, with no worries in the world.
Suddenly, the game shifts, the ambiance changes, the enemies suddenly look completely different and something feels off..

I feel dumb for even considering using AI.
When there are literally thousands of great indie artists out there. I am thinking of dedicating each wave to an artist in my game. Supporting other small indies like myself.

The algorithm was alot harder than I expected
I was planning to incorporate it in my first game but it took much MUCH longer
but now, it's basically plug 'n play for anyone interested to create a slay the spire style progression map: https://t.co/JO4C7MQjbA

Do not hesitate to pivot when things aren't working
I've decided to completely revamp the main character of Pumpkin Reaper, i wanted him to be a necromancer first and foremost so i had to change EVERYTHING
It took alot of updating but here we are.
#indiedev#gamedev
@Timb03 1. Create v1 endpoints from backend
2. Spin up new frontend (build from scratch), connect to v1 api
3. Migration script of old db to new db
4. Create new backend with same structure as v1 but connected to new db, call it v2
5. Finally, connect new frontend to v2.
Full migration
Sometimes, working on multiple projects is best for an indie
I felt a little bit worn out just working on ONE game all the time, and decided to update my very first game.
currently, the update is only on itch https://t.co/u73FDjTZkF

Back to building new skills on my little indie game, Pumpkin Reaper
This one is good crowd control, but there is some slight delay, so use wisely

I finally found the missing piece for Pumpkin Reaper..
it's the JUICE!
it feels so much more satisfying now than before, i'm actually getting to a point where i am becoming more proud of the game, which is what my original goal was from the get go

So much has changed with Pumpkin Reaper behind the scenes
From:
- Upgrading procedural generation
- General Visibility
- Upgraded Shaders
- New Skills and Unlockables
- and so on
That it's hard to enumerate them all
