​If our entire legacy is just a hunting for job, searching for money, searching for more money, then we’ve fundamentally misunderstood what it means to be alive. We are becoming a hollowed-out species, existing for the sake of survival, but completely devoid of soul.

One random afternoon at Starbucks, while I was waiting for my coffee and scrolling on my phone, I overheard a group of moms talking at the table next to me. One of them said, “My oldest is already 26 and still doesn’t have a boyfriend.” Another smiled and replied, “Same here. Mine is 29 and doesn’t even seem interested.”
I got curious, so I kept listening while the barista called out orders.
Then one mom said, “It’s strange, right? Girls these days are so focused on their careers. They barely make time for dating.” Another answered, “They’re smart. They’ve seen how hard life is. They don’t want to struggle again.” And as I picked up my coffee, it all made sense.
