Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan are teaming up to bring the story of Mansa Musa, the richest man in history, to the big screen.

Mansa Musa, ruler of the Mali Empire from 1312 to 1337, is remembered as one of the wealthiest and most powerful leaders in world history. His kingdom sat on vast gold reserves, giving him influence that stretched far beyond West Africa. He's most famous for his extravagant pilgrimage to Mecca, where he traveled with a massive caravan and distributed so much gold in cities like Cairo that he reportedly caused inflation for years. Under his leadership, cities such as Timbuktu flourished into major centers of learning, culture, and trade, with libraries and mosques that attracted scholars from across the Islamic world. Mansa Musa's legacy endures as a symbol of Africa's historical wealth, intellectual accomplishments, and global impact.

At just 32 years old, Dr. Ashton Sellers made history as the owner and head veterinarian of Hickman Mills Animal Hospital in Kansas City — becoming the first Black woman to achieve this milestone in the entire KC area.
A proud Kansas City native, Dr. Sellers turned her passion for animals into ownership, creating a space where pets receive quality care while breaking barriers in veterinary medicine.

This king finished #3 in his class at McKinney High School, dripping in honors (yellow stole, cords, sashes, medals) as he celebrates getting Princeton bound (accepted into THREE Ivies)!!!
He earned AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Commended, 17 AP classes, Black Student Union President, Mr. MHS, Distinguished Student Award, and building his own business (Starstruck World LLC) as a producer & audio engineer.
From the nonstop grind to the Ivy League stage… this is Black excellence in full motion.
