Win or lose, I am ashamed of the United States of America. I have seen enough to make that statement confidently.
I am proud as hell of the people in this country who have chosen to vote for freedom and democracy. As for those who did not...they have brought shame and disgrace upon this nation.
Again, we may very well win...and I'll be jubilant...just as you will. But, at the end of the day, my shame for this country will endure until this nation heals...and freedom once again becomes something the country values.
We have so much more work to do. So much.
Can this country pull out of what looks like a downward spiral? I'm optimistic. Why? Because the alternative is not acceptable for me to even think about. If we ever suspend our belief that we can prevail and fight to bring this country back to its former state of hope and optimism, that's when it's over. For that reason...as long as there is breath in me, I will work towards that goal.
If you vote for Donald Trump in November, I will not judge you for your choice of political party.
I will judge you for your lack of morals, ethics and humanity.
I will judge you for your support of racism, misogyny, and fascism.
So will others. So will history.
BREAKING: In a stunning announcement, Chief Executive Leadership Institute CEO Jeffrey Sonnenfeld says there will not be one Fortune 500 CEO supporting Donald Trump. This is wholly unprecedented. Retweet so all Americans see this shocking news.
Taylor really led a whole stadium in screaming “FUCK THE PATRIARCHY” in front of not one, but TWO future kings of England. I simply have no choice but to respect that.
Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children against deadly childhood diseases. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone.
There are 13 million starving children in this country right now.
Congress approved a Biden administration initiative to feed those children during the summer.
But 15 Republican Governors said no.
Alabama, Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Wyoming, many of which have the highest rates of poverty & food insecurity in America have refused the help.
Leaving 8 million children to starve.
They’ll “protect” our kids from “woke” math and accurate history, from pronouns, dictionaries and drag queens, but when our kids are starving… they’re on their own.
So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar and flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.
10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a real commodity.
17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.
In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!
Cutting off all communication to a population of 2.2 million is unacceptable. Journalists, medical professionals, humanitarian efforts, and innocents are all endangered.
I do not know how such an act can be defended. The United States has historically denounced this practice.
One reminder for last night: when Trump’s audience was giggling and clapping as he joked about sexual assault and threw out his various races tropes, it’s proof that Trump’s real superpower with his base is that he allows them to be their very worst selves without guilt or shame.
BREAKING: The Jury in the E. Jean Carroll rape lawsuit watched a recorded Trump deposition today as the trial heads into its final stretch. One of the more shocking, and I'd argue disgusting statements made by Trump in the deposition today is as follows:
Carrolls attorney, Roberta Kaplan was seen asking Trump if he felt that stars could actually grab women “by the pussy.”
Here is Trump's reply:
“Historically that’s true with stars. If you look over the last million years, that’s largely true, unfortunately—or fortunately.”
Fortunately? Are you kidding me? It makes a person 'fortunate' to sexually assault a woman?
Kaplan then asked Trump if he considers himself a 'star'.
Trump replied: "Yeah".
I want to hear how anyone can support what Trump said here. Can anyone do that?
On May 24, 2022 in Uvalde Texas, an 18 year old walked into Robb Elementary School and shot and killed 19 children and 2 adults.
Two days ago in Houston Texas, a man paused his dinner date to shoot and kill a fake parking attendant.
Last night in Cleveland Texas, 5 members of a family (including an 8 year old child) were shot and killed by their neighbor after they asked him to stop firing his gun on his front lawn so their baby could sleep.
So when Republican lawmakers in a state where it’s easier to get AR-15s than books about Black history say their abortion ban is about being “pro-life”…
They’re full of shit.
13,716 dead this year from gun violence.
0 dead from drag shows.
0 dead from reading banned books.
0 dead from someone else getting gender affirming care.
0 dead from Pride flags.
It's. The. Fucking. Guns.
Republicans are saying it's not because they're fucking lying.
