Sigh. The reason @JacintaAllanMP got rolled yesterday was because Rupert Murdoch is primarily a mining oligarch who uses a media company as his marketing arm and who has thus long wanted to make even more profit by legalising fracking in Victoria, which he’d be able to do if the LNP got into power.

He’s tried for years to get Labor out in Victoria but wasn’t able to potentially do so till he was able to bash Allan even more than he did Andrews using misogyny as an extra tool.

So once again and as always for women, it’s the conscious and sometimes unconscious sexism so many people have grown up with which conspired to destroy a woman leader far more effectively than could have happened to a man.

Not one woman in Australia is surprised that the Liberal Party elected its first ever woman leader in 2025 only to force her out of the job in less than 8 months.

It’s the way nasty, abusive and thoroughly misogynist men roll, and the LNP is chock-full of them.

No matter what you think of Ley (and we think very, very little, as we do of all conservative women), this dumping is a farce and a fucking disgrace.

No matter how low anyone thinks they can go, they always go lower. And if they thought they had any chance at improving their polling leading up to the next election, they’ve just lost hundreds of thousands MORE votes (if that’s possible) from Australian women who are sick of this shit.
