@CraigWtweets @CatiaMalaquias @criprights conveniently overlooks the finding from the Child Abuse Royal Commission that segregated settings like special schools are not "sanctuaries" but places where kids are at greater risk of abuse (see page 89)

So when you actually look at the evidence... yep, Indigenous people overwhelmingly backed the Voice.
Claims to the contrary were a huge factor during the campaign. And the reporting on this and influenced by this was atrocious.

Vested interests by those whose living is made in special schools appear to be getting in the way of the #DisabilityRC recommendation to #EndSegregation
@TheEducatorAU "Segregation and exclusion in closed institutional contexts away from public scrutiny leaves children (and adults) with disability at heightened risk of violence and harm including sexual abuse."

@TheEducatorAU It's curious that this article does not address the findings from not one but two Royal Commissions that segregating is more likely to result in poor outcomes and increased risk of abuse.
@SueTape@CydaAu I can't see how "current state of mind" is different from an opinion poll. Those other surveys are not the same as this one - ending segregation is about upholding a human right not reflecting people's opinions/state of mind
Far Enough?
Remember when you wanted to find the best coffee within walking distance of where you’re at and you googled it? You can apply the same tactic to so many other aspects in life! @nashedgerton@jennaown@VZerbst@bluetonguefilms VOTE YES

@CatiaMalaquias Yep because handing to parents trying to enrol their disabled kid at a school a half-filled-out form for the local special school is the EXACT equivalent of another kid trying out for a spot at a sports/music exemplary school.
@CatiaMalaquias When folks invest energy into policing vocabulary instead of protecting kids from violence and neglect, it says a lot about them.
And what it says is nothing good.
There are a number of well-known progressive “personalities” on Aussie TV ATM who’ve privately been in touch with MFW to say they love what we do and want to privately help more but also need to keep their support secret because they “can’t afford to upset Rupert Murdoch or anyone who works for him as it could limit future employment opportunities” and honestly, we won’t out them but if this kind of bullshit doesn’t sum up the fucked state of the media and politics in this fucking country we have NFI what fucking does.
