For children of the 90s, our paper "married with children" on intermarriage + racial attitudes just dropped (2016 CMPS). Mahalo to my co-authors: Natasha Altema McNelly and @edwarddvargas. Find it @PGI_WPSA.
Today, I sit with a lot of gratitude for Dr. @TonyAffigne, who after providing kick ass feedback on my WPSA conference paper, took the time to connect me to scholars working on Indigenous issues. An hour conversation and a couple of emails can provide so much to junior scholars.
Outside of my dissertation committee and a few lone folks holding down the fort in Gender Equity and Student Equity...Boise State had used up and bled out all my favorite people.
@JohnHolbein1 It's awful when graduate students of color know their findings will never show significance because settler-colonial white supremacy works exactly as it was meant to.
Shout out to a badass academic Auntie @ngoctphan and this group of Indigenous Hawaiian students doing incredible work. You make me feel at home. #WPSA22
Shout out to WPSA women of color mini conference talking about negotiating salary, benefits, extractive labor, abuse and harm in the academy. #Reppin_REP
My Academic Auntie dreams come true next week. My Native Hawaiian Survey team will meet the Guahan Survey Team @WPSA. Look for us at panels in REP, APAC-mini conference, and the gala/fundrasiser/dance! We have two undergraduate students traveling all the way from Guam.
I co-authored this piece with Dr. Lane Gillespie from @BoiseStateSPS criminal justice program. This work is not possible without our Idaho Tribal communities and grassroots orgs working on #MMIP
