My dad's toe. He's been in the hospital for over a week. Doctors are seemingly flip flopping about surgery, based on blood levels as well as him being diabetic, having high blood pressure, and myasthenia gravis. He's 66 yrs old, turning 67 this year.
How on earth do dental places expect someone on a fixed income, with no other way to get funds from family/friends, and not employed to pay for dental services, including consultations? Budgets on fixed incomes are stretched enough as is! Thoughts/help?
Due to a shattered wrist in March 2024, and highly evident biases as to who gets light duty work loads at my former place of employment and unhelpful union, 2 days after Thanksgiving 2024, I decided that it was best for my overall well being to resign. ODSP/EI clawback aided it.
@farwell_WR@CityNewsKIT As someone who HAD worked in an industry saturated with international students, I am glad that there is a cutback on the numbers allowed on them. The overcrowding on public transit and LRT due to the students when I commute between Cambridge and Kitchener is under realized
Was working part time until I shattered my wrist on March 21st, and have been receiving ODSP, up until this month. The injury did not occur on company property
I was notified that my file is on hold due to the fact that I am receiving too much from EI. Due to the vague jargon outlining ODSP policies and expectations, people such as myself are falling further behind, and not reaching their full potential because of it.
ODSP/EI legislative protocols
makes it all the more difficult for those who are honest in their reporting, while those who cheat the system get full benefits, which makes it harder for those who truly deserve the hand up appear like they are after a hand out.
Q: How young can a person be to obtain Widows/Survivors benefits? Service Canada site seems to be ambiguous about the answer, looking for answers for a friend of mine who's spouse died 8 years ago, and friend is their 40s.
@RegionWaterloo@GRT_ROW Hope this gets resolved because the amount of people that cannot afford alternative methods to get to work/school/appointments/meetings as the transit system is their only mode of transportation. Most have to go to another city within the Region for what they have to do.
The Region continues to negotiate with UNIFOR Local 4304 and is committed to reaching an agreement that is competitive for @GRT_ROW staff and affordable for residents. UNIFOR could strike as of May 1, which could cause disruptions to buses. Read more: https://t.co/PU1hUlCyWC
@GRT_ROW as a part of taking extra time on everyone's commute, a lot of passengers are dealing with this throughout the region just to get on a bus. #Kitchener#Waterloo#Cambridge
