@TheHost_ That wouldnt happen in my library because if a kid told me that I’d just delete the book from the system and give her the ticket to the ceremony.
If I were a principal interviewing potential teachers, one question I would ask of every candidate would be “What is the best book you’ve read this year?”. The answer would provide a lot of useful insight.
Check out this week’s Cougar Connect for important updates & end-of-year information. Remember that Monday is a holiday, and students will have early release on Thurs & Friday (no backpacks). We are looking forward to a strong finish! #KMSCougarPride🐾

I teach Spanish. We're reading The House on Mango Street in class. Sandra Cisneros is Mexican American. That's my justification, and I'm sticking to it.
The real reason is that grades are already in, two weeks are left, every other teacher is showing a movie, and only one girl raised her hand when I asked who reads for fun.
One.
So we're reading. And we're going to have fun doing it. I'll make sure of that.

All the kids in my class silent read for 20 minutes every day. All of them.
And I read out loud to them for 15 minutes.
Fighting the literacy crisis, one day at a time.
It's hard to believe, but there are only 2 more weeks of school left! The final days are packed with celebrations, testing wrap-ups, field trips, and end-of-year activities, so please check Cougar Connect for updates. #KMSCougarPride🐾
